Ā  The School of Consent ā€“ Australasia!

Welcome!

If you live in Australia, New Zealand and neighbouring Islands of the South Pacific and want to connect about workshops, trainings and communities of practice in the Wheel of Consent, this is for you!Ā

Whether practitioner, alumni or an interested community member--start here for Wheel workshops, professional trainings and community offerings that are friendly to our southern hemisphere time zones. In the meantime, here's the main CALENDAR.

We aim to share, encourage and support each other in our journeys of embodying consent.

Why an Australasian project?

Firstly, we fell in love with the Wheel!

And - we want to spread this rich and wonderful work further throughout Australasia.Ā

Hands down, the Wheel changes everything! What a difference it makes to how we access and navigate our desires, limits and interactions with others.Ā

We have co-created this page with Betty Martin, developer of the Wheel of Consent, and the School of Consent, to connect people in our region interested in this practice.

Who are we?

Stella and Susan: We met through our work as sexological bodyworkers and quickly found connection in our focus on embodied consent practices and pleasure-centred work. The practices of the Wheel are integral to our professional and personal lives and this shows up in our ongoing friendship and professional connection. This project emerged from discussing our desires to build communities of practice and local contact avenues for the Wheel of Consent in Australasia.

Stella: Iā€™m a Certified Facilitator of the Wheel, holding 2-3 day workshops open to anyone,Ā as well as some that are queer-specific, and I am on the training team and faculty for theĀ School of Consent.

Susan: Iā€™m a Like a Pro graduate, learning the Wheel both online and in person, and Iā€™m in the process of completing the Wheel of Consent Facilitator Certification.Ā

Our full professional bios are included below.

(she/her)
Abundant Body: Wollongong, Dharawal Country, NSW Australia

Iā€™m a Certified Facilitator of the Wheel, holding 2-3 day workshops open to anyone,Ā as well as some that are queer-specific, and I am on the training team and faculty for theĀ School of Consent.

The Wheel of Consent is woven through my work as a sexological bodyworker, and a sex and body educator; and it shows up in my personal relationships, in how I engage with community, and in understanding how systems might serve, connect or oppress.

I run Wheel of Consent workshops, do speaking requests and group programs, and Iā€™m on the training team of the School of Consent, teaching on professional Wheel trainings in-person and online. As a queer, white-bodied older cis femme, I love bodies, learning, communal healing, and the precious gifts and offerings in the practices of the Wheel.

Meanjin (Brisbane - Australia)

Iā€™m a Like a Pro graduate, learning the Wheel both online and in person, and Iā€™m in the process of completing the Wheel of Consent Facilitator Certification.Ā Ā

I am a passionate and warm practitioner and facilitator, who is delightfully and unapologetically at home in my body and exploring the challenges and joys of claiming an erotically expansive and vibrant life.

I weave together three decades of personal exploration, study, and experience as a Sexological Bodyworker, Somatic Sex Coach, Embodiment Counsellor and Group Facilitator. I currently work with individuals and couples through my private practice and co-organise an annual sexuality festival called FEAST.

I am passionate about bringing the Wheel as a tool of healing, empowerment and liberating pleasure.
